[Updated] County Distribution System

The Background…

As part of Prince Edward County’s new visitor services program, print promotional materials will be prominently displayed at eight visitor information ‘Hot Spots’ across The County in 2017. The County has partnered with public and private businesses in key gateways (Consecon, Rossmore, County Rd 49, Glenora Ferry), downtowns (Picton, Bloomfield, Wellington), and tourism locations (Sandbanks Provincial Park) to become Hot Spots this year. These sites will be identified by road-side flags and signs, and promoted as the destination(s) for visitor information on the Chamber of Tourism and Commerce Red Map, the Winegrowers Association Wine Map, and The County’s new tourism website (www.VisitPEC.ca). Visitors will be able to access travel information at each of these sites through printed materials, promotional screens, maps, and advice from trained tourism ambassadors on County products and services.

All Hot Spots will have designated racks featuring key County branded tourism materials including the Arts Trail / Taste Trail, The Welcome Guide, County Museums pamphlets, Red Map, and Wine Map. A Distribution Coordinator will make weekly rounds to all Hot Spot locations to monitor, restock, and take inventory of print materials.

The Opportunity…

Prince Edward County tourism businesses will also have the opportunity to have their promotional materials delivered, prominently displayed and monitored, on a weekly basis by purchasing a space in the distribution program. This paid distribution program is completely optional and intended to alleviate the time and costs associated with weekly travel and delivery by individual businesses. All Prince Edward County tourism-related businesses can participate (subject to space limitations) and the program does not restrict businesses from continuing to independently deliver their promotional materials to any public/communal display spaces at information/business locations.
